It was said that UTI (Urinary Tract Infection) frequently affected woman than man. Why, according to my finding on a few site and books, Women are particularly as risk because the urethra is quite short and bacteria can more easily move into it. It was fount that one in four women will have a UTI as some stage in their life, compared to one in 20 men. Each year, millions of woman affected by Urinary Tract Infection, and the number is increasing along with the population of woman all around the world. The mainly cause of UTI is bacteria. Any parts of our urinary tract has a probability being infected, such as the kidneys, ureters, bladder, and urethra.
9 Symptoms of UTI in Woman
Please be noted that not all the woman that suspected to be infected by UTI shows the symptoms as discussed in the following. There may no sign at all or totally different from the following list. However the following symptoms are the most sign of high probability to confirm women UTI.
- Pain or burning during urination
This sign is similar with male or men UTI. Feel pain or burning during urination is the most common symptoms that should be aware. This condition could be happen on each time of urination.
- The need to urinate more often than usual
We should be aware of this condition too. The frequency of urinate double or triple than usual is the main sign or symptoms of Urinary Tract Infection.
- A feeling of urgency during urination
A feeling of urgency during urination means hurry in order to empty our bladder. If this feeling come together with other symptoms that discussing here, it may the confirmation of UTI.
- Blood or pus in the urine
Don't take easy on this situation. Let's say that you consume a lot of plain water as usual and suddenly you notice that your urine look reddish in colour. After a while, you face the same situation again every time urinate. You should see your medical doctor immediately then.
- Cramps or pain in the lower abdomen
Suddenly cramps or pain in the lower abdomen also the common symptoms of UTI. However to confirm it, it should came with other symptoms such as blood in urine, urgency of urinate, strong urine smell or other symptoms and sign as mention in this article.
- Chills or fever
This early symptoms consider not a common symptoms of UTI in women. However, it may occur in some woman. This kind of symptoms usually happen on children.
- Strong smelling urine
Strong smelling urine also should be considered as a main symptoms or sign of UTI in woman and men also. Be sensitive on our own urine condition. If we notice something unusual or strange especially the smell of our urine, further examination should be done. Don't wait a longer time or take it easy. You should know and care your own health. Just go to the nearest clinic or hospital.
- Pain during sexual intercourse
As a woman, i think you should put this sign into the first place of awareness on high probability being infected by UTI. Especially when it happen together with other symptoms that has been discussed in the earlier paragraph. You should able to distinguish this kind of pain with other pain related on sexual intercourse.
- Nausea, vomiting, and malaise
Not every woman face this condition, but it possible occur and considered as the parts of Urinary Tract Infection Symptoms (UTI) especially when it come along with other major sign that was explained above.
Conclusion
I don't think the above explanation regarding on UTI symptoms is good enough as our reference. There were some and special symptoms regarding on it that we don't know or experience yet.
